Animals on Broadway is back, and better than ever

Meteorologists are predicting the current heat wave will break by Sunday, May 18—which is perfect, because that's the day of the annual pooch parade in Broadway Plaza. Here's the 4-1-1 about Animal Rescue Foundation's annual Animals on Broadway event, from www.arf.net:

Broadway is not just for CATS anymore, it’s for dogs, birds, rabbits, and even potbellied pigs! No, we aren't talking about the theatre, we are referring to “Animals on Broadway”, a festival for people and pets alike to join together and spend the day celebrating their animals on Broadway — Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, that is.

Join us on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. as we celebrate the wonder of animals with “Animals on Broadway”!

At “Animals on Broadway”, there’s fun for the entire family! Enjoy your day checking out vendor booths that include travel gifts, costumes, pet jewelry and artwork, gourmutt pet treats and professional pet photography, to name a few.

Don't miss the opportunity to view dog obedience and training classes, police K9 units at work, or having your dog washed by ARF volunteers. And be sure to sign up early for all the fun contests that include Cutest Beg, Silly Pet Tricks, Fastest “Woofer”, Distraction Factor and Dunkin’ for Dogs!

Kids can enjoy a special area just for them with fun ARF kids' crafts and face painting. While you're listening to live music, look for that special autographed celebrity baseball or St. Louis Cardinals line-up card at the “Sports and ARF Sales” booth or pick up some ARFWear for your family and pets. And while you’re considering adding a new member to your family by adopting a dog or cat at the ARF Adoption Mobile, don’t forget to visit the feral cat and dog rescue groups.
