Sore soles? Thanks to Lisa Brown, East Bay residents have a place to pamper their feet and shoe shop at the same time.

Tootsie’s, a shoe, scarf, and purse boutique in Danville, specializes in footwear that is both “affordable and adorable.” As a local mom with two teenagers at Monte Vista High School, Brown knows what fashions are hot on the market. She attends several shoe shows between Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami every year in search of the latest styles.

In the corner of Tootsie’s are three canopied pedicure stations fit for a princess. The treatments range from natural nail manicures to the 45-minute Simple Pleasures pedicure ($25) or the hour-long Spa treatment ($32), which includes a citrus scrub, hydrating foot mask, and hot towels. To ensure your experience is hygienic, disposable foot baths are used for each client. “It’s a fun synergy of product and service,” said Brown.

Filling a niche market, Brown and her sister opened the first Tootsie’s boutique and salon in Vero Beach, Florida nearly a decade ago. Now, the store has 13 “friend”-chise concept stores all over the country, from Laguna Beach to Texas, Vermont and Florida. The Danville location on Prospect Avenue is going into its sixth year of operation.

What you’ll find: Shoe deliveries come in every day, but on the shelves at the moment are Michael Kors wedge sandals, Havaianas flip flops, Sam Edelman flats, and the new line of metallic Ugg boots, plus hobo-style bags and light pattered fashion scarves. “Over the knee and western-style boots are in this season,” said Brown.

Who you’ll see here: All ages; the place is often bustling around lunchtime and after school. Private parties for birthdays, baby showers or bridal celebrations are available on Thursdays and Fridays from 6-9 p.m.

Lisa’s customer promise: The store will not carry a pair of shoes she doesn’t personally like. “I try on every single pair,” Brown said. Her favorite labels include celebrity-beloved Bernardo sandals, Vaneli, and Sam Edelman.

Mark your calendar: End-of-summer shoes are $20 through the weekend (ending Sunday, Sept. 27) so hurry in to stock up while the weather’s still nice.

Tootsie’s holds two major seasons’ end sales each year in mid-February and mid-September.

Gift certificates are also available.
