On May 3 and 4, the Livermore Wine Country Festival comes to downtown Livermore. On the menu are delicious food, live music, local artists selling their work, games and activities for kids, and, of course, Livermore Valley wines. Wente Vineyards will be celebrating its 125th anniversary at the festival (on the 125th day of the year, no less) by hosting the Lifestyle Pavilion, which showcases great wine, olive oil, and other bits of foodstuff finery.
On May 17, the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation hosts its annual gala dinner and live auction at Concannon Vineyard. The auction will feature hard-to-find wines, trips to exotic locales, and dining packages. Money raised benefits local charities, including the Taylor Family Foundation, Oakland East Bay Symphony, Kaleidoscope After-School Program, and ValleyCare Foundation.
